The Laksha Deepotsava ceremony for Lord Manjunatha took place at the auspicious temple of Dharmasthala on Friday morning. It was done after the Lord’s statue was carried in procession twice around the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, and four times around the temple itself. The Kshetrapaala pooje was done next, before the idol was yet again carried in procession nine times around the temple premises along with festive music and celebrations.
The idol was later ferried in a silver chariot to Gowrimaaru Katte, where the Ashtavadhaana pooje was conducted. It was returned to the temple with equal fervor post the rituals.
This ceremony was witnessed by lakhs of devotees who arrived to Dharmasthala from around the state.
