Both of them were keen on ensuring that every doctor passing out of this institution should not be just academically proficient but render utmost respect to the profession that gives him the power to save precious lives within the ambit of modern medicine. Anyone who enters the precincts of the campus is bowled over by the breathtaking architecture of the buildings and the beautifully landscaped gardens. It is important to create an ambience conducive to the serious study of medicine. To match the expectations of the students great care has been taken to ensure every lab has state-of-art equipment related to the respective subject. Though part of the Medical College, this institution has carved a niche for itself in the specialized branch of Physiotherapy. Very soon the College will also commence the Ph.D program. He breathed a new life in this holistic treatment by giving it a modern avatar.The tremendous response to this initiative inspired Shri Heggade to establish yet another College and Hospital of Ayurveda at Hassan in 1992. Affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, both these Colleges offer graduate and postgraduate courses – AMS, MD, MS and Doctoral degrees. They also offer 16 specialties in Post Graduation and Post Doctoral degrees. To empower the students with intense knowledge of Ayurveda and its nuances, the College has established a full fledged hospital, a herbal garden and a Central Research Laboratory inside the Campus. The students are provided access to the different branches of Ayurveda in the Hospital, which also houses a modern Operation Theater where operations are conducted in the true tradition of Ayurveda.

To augment these facilities, the Colleges also invite renowned practitioners of this ancient health science to impart their knowledge and share their experiences and experiments with the young students. Shri. Heggade is also in the process of establishing another College of Ayurveda in Hassan and Bangalore. As a prelude to this project, a small unit staffed with experts in Ayurveda, has begun serving people since 2010, at Kengeri Upanagara Layout.

This College is truly a great example of the visionary genius of Shri Veerendra Heggade. Way back in 1987, who would have thought that this form of Alternate Medicine would become an avidly sought after option? How many would have dreamt that Naturopathy as a stream of education would be accepted by the young minds? Yet Shri Heggade went ahead and established a College for the pursuit of this almost forgotten form of Medicine. He also convinced the decision makers in the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health to give recognition to Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences as a serious professional option. Today his faith has borne fruit.

This College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences offers students passing out of under graduation schools a productive professional option. It has resurrected the waning art of healing to become one of the most sought after treatments. The nearby Hospital for Naturopathy and Yogic Healing is its shining example. Affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, this college offers a 5 year Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS) Course and a three year Post Graduate (MD) course.
