Temple Routine

The gates of Shri Manjunatha swamy shrine open at 4 am every morning to cater to the spiritual needs and karmic enlightenment of every pilgrim that steps in with a hope to head back enlightened by his mere presence in the abode of Dharma. The temple follows a strict routine to enable every devotee have an ecstatic rendezvous with Lord Shri Manjunatha Swamy while following the mandatory rituals in the temple.

  • Darshan

    The shrine opens up to the devout pilgrims,post the vedic cleansing of temple premises and the Idol. The shrine is open for darshan all day long with intermittent closure for Mahapoojas.

  • Shatharudra Abhisheka & Pooja

    The Shatharudrabhisheka pooja is hailed by all vedic scriptures as one of the greatest Poojas to remove all evils, and to attain prosperity. This pooja derives its significance from the fact that Lord Shiva was once worshiped in his Rudra form by Lord Rama before crossing the sea to seek his blessings. Darshana continues, along with.

  • Shiva Sahasranamavali

    Shiva sahasranamavali is a way to sing praise and accolades to Lord shiva in his various forms. Taking the names of Lord shiva in all his forms strengthens one's belief in his might.

  • Maha Naivedya Samarpana

    Maha Naivedya is the food offered to Lord Manjunatheshwara as part of the worship ritual, without tasting or eating it in the process. The annadana begins post­ maha naivedya.

  • Mahapooja

    Maha Pooja is a very elaborate pooja performed by decorating the Idol with all natural vedic decoratives post the abhisheka, chanting vedic hymns, vedic instruments being played alongside. A complete revolution of the temple is taken and hence darshana is closed around this time to avoid overcrowding.

  • Darshana

    Post the daily rituals, the darshana continues till end of Q‐line or 2:30 pm, whichever falls first.

  • Darshana

    Post the evening Shrine opens for Darshana.

  • Mahapooja

    The evening maha pooja is a very elaborate pooja performed by decorating the Idol with all natural vedic decoratives, chanting vedic hymns, vedic instruments being played alongside.

  • Nithyabali

    Nithyabali – Lord Sri.Manjunathaswamy utsavamoorthy will be conducted 3- times a day there will be 5 rounds. So darshan will be blocked at this time.
